Professional summary.

From hands-on designer to enterprise UX leader — building systems that scale across regulated, complex, and high-stakes product environments.

Balkrishna Parab — VP Product Design
Balkrishna Parab

I've evolved from a hands-on designer to leading cross-functional teams responsible for enterprise-scale product experiences.

Across Technology, Telecom, and BFSI, I've seen how fragmented tools and hidden risk force teams to compensate with memory and workarounds. I've made it my work to build the systems that prevent that — design frameworks, standards, and governance that enable teams to operate with clarity and autonomy.

By aligning UX strategy with business goals, technology constraints, and regulatory requirements, I drive measurable outcomes in efficiency, adoption, and long-term customer trust.

I focus on creating the conditions for good decisions: clear standards, strong governance, and systems that let teams move independently without adding risk or rework.

Great UX isn't what you see on the screen — it's the system behind it that makes trust and scale possible.

Approach

How I work.

UX as a strategic capability — embedded early, governed well, and designed to scale without sacrificing craft.

01
Strategic embedding

Design enters at the start, not the end.

I treat UX as a strategic capability — embedding design early in product planning and aligning deeply with business, technology, and compliance teams before a single wireframe is drawn. Design intent shapes the product, not the other way around.

02
Systems thinking

Strong systems enable speed without sacrificing quality.

Design systems, governance models, and operating frameworks are the infrastructure that makes good design repeatable at scale. I build these structures so teams can move fast and independently — within guardrails that hold quality constant across programs.

03
Leadership style

Clarity, accountability, and friction removal.

My leadership style emphasises clear ownership, honest communication, and systematic removal of blockers. When teams know what they're accountable for and trust that decisions are made deliberately, they make better choices faster — without waiting for approval.

04
Mentorship

Investing in craft and strategic thinking, together.

I invest in mentoring designers and design leaders to build both craft excellence and strategic thinking. The best teams don't just execute well — they understand why the work matters, who it serves, and what success looks like beyond the screen.

Philosophy

Great design leadership is about building repeatable conditions for quality — not relying on individual heroics.

Career philosophy

What I believe about leadership.

By investing in people, systems, and shared understanding, organisations can scale trust, speed, and impact simultaneously.

V / 01
Systems over heroics.
Relying on individual talent to compensate for broken systems is a debt that always comes due. I build the frameworks, standards, and governance structures that make quality repeatable — so teams don't have to work around the process to do good work.
V / 02
Trust is the product.
In regulated environments — banking, enterprise, healthcare — the real product is trust: candidate trust, customer trust, stakeholder trust. Every design decision either builds or erodes it. I treat trust as a design requirement, not a soft benefit.
V / 03
Clarity enables autonomy.
When teams understand the principles behind a decision — not just the decision itself — they can make better choices independently. My goal as a leader is to build shared understanding so people need less approval, not more oversight.
